Aurora Part 2- Antique Quilts from Humble Quilts

These are some older quilts from the Aurora Quilt Show. Many belong to the historical society and were part of the Aurora Colony. 


This is a cute setting using vintage blocks. 





I can't say I've ever noticed that the applique was pulled into the seam!  I've seen this quilt many times over the years.






 











Here is my rendition I made (2011) after seeing the antique at the quilt show. Fabric hand dyed by former blogger Libby

I love the simple cross hatch quilting on this one. 






I don't recall seeing this one before. It was charming ...

Good use of a panel! I sure notice panel quilts these days!



They have a little "quilt store" that the proceeds go to help support the Colony Museum. 

This quilt was outside- It was overpriced but so big, chunky and graphic!

Old Aurora Colony Quilts from Humble Quilts

Another beautiful day in Oregon to visit the Old Aurora Colony Museum Quilt Show!

The show looked a bit different this year, but still enjoyable. I'm going to share some of the colony quilts owned by the museum. I never get tired of seeing these lovely quilts!


The blocks are fairly small. Maybe 5"

The fabric is incredible!




This looks brown, but it is actually purple. 

So is this one.

That wide border! Wow!
